Inspired by the finer tastes of life, Salinas is a concept restaurant that offers a refreshing dining experience by reinventing dishes Filipinos love and grew up with. Classic recipes meet modern execution in terms of plating, ambiance, and service.
From the word ‘salinity’pertaining to salt, an essential component in any Filipino household, Salinas reintroduces heirloom recipes that are fine-tuned to modern tastes yet cooked with a healthy dose of nostalgia. Similarly, the Salinas Drive in Cebu City is where Golden Cowrie legacy began.
Treat your palate to a burst of flavors with pinaugang balbacua, vegetarian sisig, grilled vegetable miki, cucumber agua fresca, buwad and aligue on red rice, Zarsuela de Mariscos and pinaupong manok among others. Food regularly found in the busy streets like kwek-kwek, fish ball, and tenga ng baboy are made even more appetizing. Also available is the local Taho with sweet sauce and sago pearl, served in a bucket of ice.
Styled by a Cebuana interior designer, the 100 square meter restaurant, with a capacity of 75 persons, is cozy and personal – evoking old memories, as well as new experiences. Though it presents a fresh take on the homegrown dishes we’ve loved, Salinas remains refreshingly Filipino. It is established on Golden Cowrie’s principle of bringing the best out of the Filipino cuisine.
Located beside Golden Cowrie along Salinas Drive, Lahug, Cebu City, Salinas is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. during its soft opening.
