Comfort is always one of my top priorities when choosing what to wear. Okay, sometimes I have to sacrifice that for certain events. However, when I’m running errands and doing loads of activities around the city, I have to wear something comfy. Hey, you can always do both! Stay comfy and stylish as well!

Take note, there are a ton of styles that you can experiment on. With every occasion, there is always a corresponding style that is appropriate for the event. Be it a formal event, launching, or just going to grab some groceries. There’s a look you can go for. It’s like Newton’s third law! For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. =)

Shorts: Dare to Dream
With this look, I went for the sporty style. I was out for errands as well as taking photos of Sophia for her blog. Oh! We also went to chill in the mountains. Haha Yes, we did a lot. I knew this look was the way to go for that day’s activities. I got the pull over from “Dare to Dream” which is part of their  Wearable Art Collection. It has paintings printed on it. It’s pretty cool! I paired it with these breathable cotton shorts, also from Dare to Dream. They were made in cotton but they were in high quality. It felt quite thick but light and comfy at the same time. The same quality is apparent on the pull over too! That is what I like about Dare to Dream. You really get what you paid for! Also wore tights just to put some edge on the look and topped it off with white janoskis, black cap, and sunglasses! Overall, the outfit was style appropriate and functional too! =)

Seaside Serenity https://jessejake.com/2016/seaside-serenity/ Sun, 25 Sep 2016 01:21:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/09/25/seaside-serenity/

My girlfriend and I love chilling at SM Seaside. Well, if we really want to chill then we’d drive to the beach or up to the mountains but this one is when we only have little time to spare. For one, the mall is huge! There are also not that many people around. There are also a lot of venues where we can shoot our ootd’s! Haha

We usually go there as soon as the mall opens. Guess why? Yes! There aren’t that many people going to the mall in the morning. Haha Also, by the time people come swarming in, we’re already inside the cinema. Haha As much as I love to party occasionally and meet people, I don’t like crowds most of the time.

I actually recycled this look from our CFB Christmas Dinner. I didn’t get to take a good picture of this look and I like this look. So I wore the whole ensemble again just to get a good set of photos of it. We just used my Huawei P9 for this because I didn’t want to bring the bulky DSLR. Hey, I bet you barely even notice the difference! Haha

The theme of our CFB Dinner was “Serenity and Rose Quartz” which was based on the Pantone colors for 2016. Ofcourse, we chose that so our clothes will be very well coordinated. Haha I really wanted to wear something rose quartz because that would be something unexpected from me of that time. As we all know, it was difficult to find rose quartz colored clothing for men in 2015. Now, its everywhere! Obviously, I went for serenity and it worked well between my girlfriend and I. She wore a terno rose quartz separates. Just paired my button up with khakis to warm up the coldness of the color serenity. The white low down high cuts balanced out the look by counteracting the ‘prim and proper’ feel of the button up and the khakis. =)

Send Off https://jessejake.com/2016/send-off/ Fri, 15 Jul 2016 07:36:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/07/15/send-off/

There was actually a time when I was very skeptical about long line shirts. It felt like I didn’t have the confidence to wear one. However, by the looks of the photo above, I am now comfortable wearing long line shirts! Haha This look definitely takes a lot of confidence to pull off because its longer than the long line shirts I’ve become used to.

I have a friend who works at ‘Dare to Dream’ who kept on telling me to wear this shirt but I never bat an eye on it because it was way to long for me. I finally gave in and got the shirt because I trust him. There must be a reason why he thought the shirt suits me. I guess he was right! I mustered all my confidence and created this look. So now, I’m dedicating this post to him. Hi Paco Serafica! =)

Long Line Shirt: Dare to Dream

He just got a new job hence the title. Good thing about it is that he gets to venture into a new and different opportunity but in the same career path right in the vicinity of family and friends! Hurray to new beginnings! =)
I played with proportion in this one while keeping the color scheme simple. Going full blast on colors would either be a risk worth taking or a hot mess! Since the play on length is already a risk for me so I took the safe route on the colors. I chose to wore the blazer in order to keep myself from looking short as well as to keep the proportions of my torso apparent. The Chucks binds the preppy vibe of the long line shirt while the blue slacks and blue blazer tones the whole look down to a dapper.

118 https://jessejake.com/2016/118/ Sun, 12 Jun 2016 14:29:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/06/12/118/
Today marks the 118th independence anniversary of our country, The Philippines. This definitely calls for a celebration! However, we didn’t party and all. Haha. Maybe some did but we celebrated it spontaneously! I guess it commemorates the day just right. We absolutely felt the freedom today. =)

My girlfriend and I started out our day attempting to attend a flag ceremony hence the Barong Tagalog. Yes! Attempted! We went to the venue but we weren’t sure which area and then the rain started to pour so… yeah! Haha We decided to catch up with our friends at an event nearby which was pretty cool because we were reminded on why it’s awesome to be a Filipino. Okay it wasn’t nearby, it was roughly 5 to 6 kilometers away. Haha
Around noon, we (Sophia, Marco, and I) went to SM Seaside City to have lunch and have our shoot there. Hey! I can’t just take my Barong Tagalog for granted! Haha After that, we decided to change venue and took our ootd’s at three different locations!
We had so much fun but it wasn’t over. While driving to nowhere, Sophia mentioned about how we sometimes eat sweet corn in Balamban. It was so random and we just went for it! Haha We drove all the way to the mountains to buy sweet corn and eat while enjoying an amazing view. It’s always fun when you are with good company!

Sneakers: Converse
I wore my Barong Tagalog with a twist. I think its obvious with the sneakers? Haha. Another thing different about it is that I paired it with a blue pants. Barong Tagalog is usually worn with black pants and shoes but you can always explore your creativity and make it your own. I tried to keep it subtle with this one. The sneakers does scream unusual but it ties down the whole look as it is of similar color to the Barong Tagalog. The blue round sunglasses, I just felt like I wanted to wear them. It’s blue like my pants anyway! Haha
I surely had fun today! How about you guys? How did you celebrate independence day? =)

Paired Up https://jessejake.com/2016/there-will-always-be-those-days-when/ Sat, 09 Apr 2016 04:13:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/04/09/there-will-always-be-those-days-when/

There will always be those days when you literally don’t want to go out, let alone want to dress up. On this day, I had to because I already gave my word that I will go to an event. Good thing was that it was not a formal event but rather a casual gathering. So I decided to wear something easy but still, somewhat, appropriate to the  event. Haha

The event was a media launch for a cafe/juice bar/green bar which advocates healthy living and, well of course, healthy eating. I just took note of “healthy living” and came up with a laid back yet sporty look! It was a success! as soon as I arrived at the event, one of the owners suggested that I try their smoothies intended for those who are sporty. Haha

Shirt: Dare to Dream
Shorts: Dare to Dream
This look didn’t take much thinking because it’s just blue. Okay, it does get a bit tricky when you pair up two pieces of the exact same color. However, in this case it was easy because it comes in different textures. These pieces didn’t come as a pair but they did come from the same collection. Talk about cohesion! Haha It’s seriously very convenient to mix and match clothes from Dare to Dream. Everyone thought this was a “terno” but it wasn’t. Still, everyone thought it was and I guese that’s what made this look stand out! =)

At The Park https://jessejake.com/2016/at-park/ Fri, 11 Mar 2016 03:13:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/03/11/at-park/

I’ve always complained about how hot it is here in the Philippines. Well, it just got hotter! It’s summer and the heat from the sun is painfully hot. It’s so hot that my nose bled twice since last week. Haha Bloody! Right? Still, I’m beginning to have fun!

I don’t know what it is about this heat but every time summer comes people tend to be happier. I’m not particularly happy with the temperature but hey… if everyone’s happy then I can definitely cope with that!

We shot this look at the Sky Park in SM Seaside City Cebu. Yes, the look on my face in the photo above accurately describe how hot it is. Haha I braved to go outside that day because my girlfriend was ecstatic to go outside. Another reason is because no one was outside! Well, there were like only eight people and the park was huge. Haha So basically, there were none. Aside from rain, I really like it when there’s no one around.

I usually go for a laid back look simply because it’s easy and comfortable especially under the scorching sun. You just put on a shirt, a pair of short, shoes, and you’re good to go! However, I managed to make this look “put together”by coordinating the colors from head to toe. I wore a long sleeved shirt, instead, to add a little bit of sophistication and topped it all off with aviators.
Special shout out to Dianne for the shirt! Thank you so much!
You can also catch this look on Sunstar today! Grab one now! =)

Draw String https://jessejake.com/2016/draw-string/ Mon, 29 Feb 2016 12:29:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/02/29/draw-string/

Summer is here! Everybody is probably itching for the beach or the nearest swimming pool. I am too but I’m not going to be as wild about it like last year. This time, I’m probably just going to keep my feet on Cebuano soil. Hey, everything here is already perfect for the season. Haha

Yes, there isn’t going to be that much in store for me this summer. Sad, right? Well not really! Haha I have new friends to hang out with by the beach and on a nearby island. I’ve got loads of ootd ideas for you guys. I also have a very close friend finally coming back here in Cebu by May. Electro Beach Festival at Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu is happening this weekend. I hope to see you guys there. If you are going, give my shoulder a tap! Haha =)

I honestly did not know what to write for this article because it was for summer. It lasted for a week! Weird right? Who doesn’t have anything to write for one of the most exciting time of the year? Well I did. Last year was a blast because I traveled a lot. This time, I barely have plans… barely have anything to be excited about. I even felt so down because of it. But then I tried to turn things around and just thought of what’s exciting around me. Boom! I found reasons to be excited about. It’s not about where you’re going but rather who you are with! =) Now, I’m ecstatic!

Button up: Dare to Dream
I wore this look during the Chinese New Year celebration at a neraby hotel. I know, it’s too summery for that . But hey! I’m that guy who wears a black Barong Tagalog simply because I know everyone is going to where a white one. Haha So, I’m that guy who wears a summer inspired outfit on Chinese New Year. It is after all the year of the monkey! Mokeys like bananas and bananas are tropical fruits. Tropical means summer! Okay, I’m just making that up! You get the point. Haha
This whole look is based on the button up I’m wearing from Dare to Dream‘s SS ’16 Collection. I just pared it with blue pants and my white tasseled loafers and topped it all off with a straw hat. That hat is about 4 years old now! Wow! Just realized that! Haha Anyway, I wanted to use a white belt to match my shoes but to my surprise… I don’t own a white belt. So, I just pulled out a draw string from my bag and there you go! A belt! Haha

Citizen https://jessejake.com/2016/citizen/ Thu, 18 Feb 2016 14:52:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/02/18/citizen/

Citizen, the leader in watch-making innovations, expanded its reach when it opened its first mono brand store in Cebu on January 29 at the Upper Ground Floor of The North Wing SM City Cebu.

Since establishing its mark in 1918 as one of the frontrunners in the watch industry, Citizen has been widely recognized for pioneering the world’s firsts in timepiece technology such as radio-controlled and satellite-synchronized timekeeping, a watch with voice recognition, and the world’s first professional dive watch with an electronic deep sensor. Pushing further, the brand introduced its latest innovation: the Eco-Drive technology. In this collection, the watches are powered by any light source, thus eliminating the need for batteries.
“Citizen lives by the statement that ‘Better Starts Now’, as such opening our first store here in Cebu is a testament to this belief. We continuously strive for the best in providing our customers watches that are not only aesthetically impressive but that truly last a lifetime,” enthused Managing Director of Citizen Watches H.K. Limited, Naoto Hosogaya. “The Eco-Drive technology is exactly that. It’s a revolutionary collection which is a fusion of both beauty and technology,” he added.

The opening of the concept store was marked by a ‘Powered By Light’ Ceremony using laser light to symbolize the official opening of the store. Present to celebrate this milestone for Citizen, along with Hosogaya, were Wizer Industries President Ray Jacinto, exclusive distributor of Citizen in the Philippines, Citizen Watches H.K. Limited Sales Executive Wendy Tam, Wizer Industries Brand Manager Joy Jalandoni, and TV personality and Citizen Philippines Brand Ambassador Daniel Matsunaga. The event was hosted by Miss Earth 2008 Karla Henry.
Guests got a closer look at the featured timepieces as Cebu models donning Eco-Drive watches posed to highlight the brand’s prized collection: Citizen Altichron Cirrus, Citizen Promaster Aqualand, Citizen Satellite Wave F900 and Citizen L for Ladies. Together with the store’s launch, winners from the raffle draw and Citizen’s Instagram photo contest took home Citizen merchandise. Two lucky guests, Queenie Ammann and Monica Lopez, won the grand prize and took home their own Citizen Eco-Drive watch.

Citizen’s presence as a pioneering watch brand in the Philippines
started since 1967, and its first mono store in the Philippines opened in 2013.
Now that its 2nd store is in full swing, the brand is set to expand
with three more stores in order to meet the demands of its discerning patrons.

Since its founding in Tokyo, Citizen has gained world-wide recognition
in creating watches that foster excellence and creativity. It lives by the
concept of “Fusion of Technology and Beauty” in mind, where it merges
technology with the perfection of design. The Citizen store in Cebu is at the
Upper Ground Floor, The Northwing, SM City Cebu. For inquiries and updates,

Going Somewhere https://jessejake.com/2016/going-somewhere/ Wed, 10 Feb 2016 11:20:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/02/10/going-somewhere/

I’ve noticed that everyone’s booking flights left and right with Hong Kong as a common destination. Well, I haven’t booked any flights at all. Yes, I’m being left behind but all is well. I probably won’t be traveling anytime soon because 2016 is definitely not my year… again! Haha Hopefully soon, though.  That said, you might be wondering where I was heading with this look carrying a leather duffel bag.

I was just off to a series of shoots for the blog and realized that the bag was an awesome accessory to complete the look! Haha And so I used it aside from just using it to contain all the clothes for the shoot. Not going somewhere out of town but you guys can pull this look if you really are going beyond the shores of your hometown! =)

Pull Over: Dare to Dream
I got this pullover from Dare to Dream and as usual, it’s awesome! Haha I like how it has a soft lining underneath which actually came as a surprise. It’s very comfortable and warm. Anyway, like I’ve always said. You can revolve you look with one piece. In this look, the focus is the pullover so I paired it with pieces with colors reminiscent to it. I just decided to wear plains since the pullover already has texture. It’s also very convenient because I can just easily slip into these pieces after the shoot. You don’t have to sacrifice style to accommodate convenience. It’s not hard to have both either. =)

On The Go https://jessejake.com/2016/on-go/ Wed, 03 Feb 2016 10:56:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/02/03/on-go/

We all have those days when we have loads of things to do and there are also those days when you simply don’t know what to wear. Well, this was a combination of both! Haha

My day started at 6 in the morning because I had to drive my girlfriend to her office. After that, I went to open her mum’s shop then went straight to a launching event. That’s not all! Haha After the event, Kat and I had to prepare for Jean‘s birthday! We then went to fetch Sophia at her office then went straight to Jean’s birthday dinner. But wait! There’s more! Haha After dinner, my girlfriend and I went to the airport to pick up her mum. The flight was delayed so I ended up arriving at home by 12 midnight. Haha It was truly a long crazy day. It was fun, though! =)

Shoes: Nike
Sunglasses: H&M

I did not put too much thought on what to wear that day because I pretty much didn’t have time to do so. I just knew that I wanted to wear this Dare to Dream pullover. I just paired it comfortable dark blue jeans. The sneakers and the cap made the whole ensemble look like I’m on-the-go and/or I’m off to a mission which I actually was. Haha Notice the colors? I stuck the colors of the pull over which is blue and black the I just added the white! You can always pair anything with white. So everything in blue, black, and/or white. Revolving around a palette of colors really help make your look cohesive! =)
