Comfort is always one of my top priorities when choosing what to wear. Okay, sometimes I have to sacrifice that for certain events. However, when I’m running errands and doing loads of activities around the city, I have to wear something comfy. Hey, you can always do both! Stay comfy and stylish as well!

Take note, there are a ton of styles that you can experiment on. With every occasion, there is always a corresponding style that is appropriate for the event. Be it a formal event, launching, or just going to grab some groceries. There’s a look you can go for. It’s like Newton’s third law! For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. =)

With this look, I went for the sporty style. I was out for errands as well as taking photos of Sophia for her blog. Oh! We also went to chill in the mountains. Haha Yes, we did a lot. I knew this look was the way to go for that day’s activities. I got the pull over from “Dare to Dream” which is part of their  Wearable Art Collection. It has paintings printed on it. It’s pretty cool! I paired it with these breathable cotton shorts, also from Dare to Dream. They were made in cotton but they were in high quality. It felt quite thick but light and comfy at the same time. The same quality is apparent on the pull over too! That is what I like about Dare to Dream. You really get what you paid for! Also wore tights just to put some edge on the look and topped it off with white janoskis, black cap, and sunglasses! Overall, the outfit was style appropriate and functional too! =)

There was actually a time when I was very skeptical about long line shirts. It felt like I didn’t have the confidence to wear one. However, by the looks of the photo above, I am now comfortable wearing long line shirts! Haha This look definitely takes a lot of confidence to pull off because its longer than the long line shirts I’ve become used to.

I have a friend who works at ‘Dare to Dream’ who kept on telling me to wear this shirt but I never bat an eye on it because it was way to long for me. I finally gave in and got the shirt because I trust him. There must be a reason why he thought the shirt suits me. I guess he was right! I mustered all my confidence and created this look. So now, I’m dedicating this post to him. Hi Paco Serafica! =)

Long Line Shirt: Dare to Dream

He just got a new job hence the title. Good thing about it is that he gets to venture into a new and different opportunity but in the same career path right in the vicinity of family and friends! Hurray to new beginnings! =)
I played with proportion in this one while keeping the color scheme simple. Going full blast on colors would either be a risk worth taking or a hot mess! Since the play on length is already a risk for me so I took the safe route on the colors. I chose to wore the blazer in order to keep myself from looking short as well as to keep the proportions of my torso apparent. The Chucks binds the preppy vibe of the long line shirt while the blue slacks and blue blazer tones the whole look down to a dapper.

Graphic http://jessejake.com/2016/graphic/ Mon, 11 Jul 2016 13:13:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/07/11/graphic/

My girlfriend and I have our favorite places in taking photos of our ootd’s. These places aren’t just back drops for our photos. We take time to breathe and appreciate the area. It’s the time when we finally have our peace of mind. It’s short lived but at least we get to enjoy it and keep our minds sane.

You might get the idea that we are living life easy but that is a huge misconception. Haha These ootd’s, events, and blog posts are just mere inserts to our schedules. Yes, my schedule if flexible but it doesn’t mean it’s empty in its entirety. Maybe we are just creative enough in making an illusion that we have all the time in the world. Besides, I don’t think it’s necessary for us to show the boring side of our lives because, like I said, it’s boring! Haha

This place is in Cebu’s South Road Properties! It’s actually a pretty nice place to chill especially on a Sunday. I like it there because there aren’t that many people and it’s peaceful. You also get to enjoy a stunning view of the Mactan Channel.
I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this pullover from Dare to Dream. As you can see, I finally did! Haha I really like how they played around the thickness of the stripes. Its also very photogenic. Haha I didn’t notice how graphic it is until we took test shots of it! At first, I really love how it looks but the moment I wore it… the quality is just amazing. It surely kept me warm during this rainy season!

Paired Up http://jessejake.com/2016/there-will-always-be-those-days-when/ Sat, 09 Apr 2016 04:13:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/04/09/there-will-always-be-those-days-when/

There will always be those days when you literally don’t want to go out, let alone want to dress up. On this day, I had to because I already gave my word that I will go to an event. Good thing was that it was not a formal event but rather a casual gathering. So I decided to wear something easy but still, somewhat, appropriate to the  event. Haha

The event was a media launch for a cafe/juice bar/green bar which advocates healthy living and, well of course, healthy eating. I just took note of “healthy living” and came up with a laid back yet sporty look! It was a success! as soon as I arrived at the event, one of the owners suggested that I try their smoothies intended for those who are sporty. Haha

This look didn’t take much thinking because it’s just blue. Okay, it does get a bit tricky when you pair up two pieces of the exact same color. However, in this case it was easy because it comes in different textures. These pieces didn’t come as a pair but they did come from the same collection. Talk about cohesion! Haha It’s seriously very convenient to mix and match clothes from Dare to Dream. Everyone thought this was a “terno” but it wasn’t. Still, everyone thought it was and I guese that’s what made this look stand out! =)

Going Somewhere http://jessejake.com/2016/going-somewhere/ Wed, 10 Feb 2016 11:20:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/02/10/going-somewhere/

I’ve noticed that everyone’s booking flights left and right with Hong Kong as a common destination. Well, I haven’t booked any flights at all. Yes, I’m being left behind but all is well. I probably won’t be traveling anytime soon because 2016 is definitely not my year… again! Haha Hopefully soon, though.  That said, you might be wondering where I was heading with this look carrying a leather duffel bag.

I was just off to a series of shoots for the blog and realized that the bag was an awesome accessory to complete the look! Haha And so I used it aside from just using it to contain all the clothes for the shoot. Not going somewhere out of town but you guys can pull this look if you really are going beyond the shores of your hometown! =)

Pull Over: Dare to Dream
I got this pullover from Dare to Dream and as usual, it’s awesome! Haha I like how it has a soft lining underneath which actually came as a surprise. It’s very comfortable and warm. Anyway, like I’ve always said. You can revolve you look with one piece. In this look, the focus is the pullover so I paired it with pieces with colors reminiscent to it. I just decided to wear plains since the pullover already has texture. It’s also very convenient because I can just easily slip into these pieces after the shoot. You don’t have to sacrifice style to accommodate convenience. It’s not hard to have both either. =)

On The Go http://jessejake.com/2016/on-go/ Wed, 03 Feb 2016 10:56:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/02/03/on-go/

We all have those days when we have loads of things to do and there are also those days when you simply don’t know what to wear. Well, this was a combination of both! Haha

My day started at 6 in the morning because I had to drive my girlfriend to her office. After that, I went to open her mum’s shop then went straight to a launching event. That’s not all! Haha After the event, Kat and I had to prepare for Jean‘s birthday! We then went to fetch Sophia at her office then went straight to Jean’s birthday dinner. But wait! There’s more! Haha After dinner, my girlfriend and I went to the airport to pick up her mum. The flight was delayed so I ended up arriving at home by 12 midnight. Haha It was truly a long crazy day. It was fun, though! =)

I did not put too much thought on what to wear that day because I pretty much didn’t have time to do so. I just knew that I wanted to wear this Dare to Dream pullover. I just paired it comfortable dark blue jeans. The sneakers and the cap made the whole ensemble look like I’m on-the-go and/or I’m off to a mission which I actually was. Haha Notice the colors? I stuck the colors of the pull over which is blue and black the I just added the white! You can always pair anything with white. So everything in blue, black, and/or white. Revolving around a palette of colors really help make your look cohesive! =)

Behind Bars http://jessejake.com/2016/behind-bars/ Tue, 26 Jan 2016 09:49:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/01/26/behind-bars/
I’m not in jail! Nor have I been in one. Haha I just titled this on “behind bars” because of the railings. A few weeks ago, my friends and I went to jail. Just kidding! We went to this new restaurant in Mactan where the view was amazing. However, the roof deck was still closed so I ended up having my photos taken here instead.

I think this emergency staircase complemented the look anyway. I was up on the second floor while Sophia was on the ground taking photos of me. That’s got to be a first for me. I think I’ve taken photos of her that put me in unusual, sometimes dangerous, situations. Haha This was her idea anyway, I just liked how the whole staircase looked.

I seriously had no idea what to wear that day so I just pulled out the classic white shirt and jeans ensemble. I put on my pumped up white sneaks and thought I was good to go. Do you guys also get that feeling when you are just about to go out and checked yourself  in the mirror and thought, “something’s missing.” Well, this is one of those moments. Haha So I put on this denim biker jacket from Dare to Dream and voila! The look was complete. You might think that denim jackets are uncomfortable because they are rough, this one is not. It’s not made of actual denim. I don’t know what material it is made of but it’s pretty comfortable. This brand always surprises me with their choice of material.

I guess I just gave the shirt and jeans look a huge twist! Haha  Hope you guys like it! =)

Day One http://jessejake.com/2016/day-one/ Mon, 11 Jan 2016 13:30:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/01/11/day-one/
What do you do when you’re girlfriend is off to her first day of work? You drive her there, wish her well, and dress up for it! Haha Okay, you don’t have to dress up for it but it won’t hurt if you do. Day one was nerve racking for my girlfriend, Sophia Sanchez. I know how ridiculously and unrightfully draining her previous job was. So I totally get why she was so nervous getting into another job and the least I could do is to be there for her.

While she was overthinking a lot of scenarios that might happen to her, I was excited for her! It’s an awesome opportunity for her to explore design skills. I know this time she’ll be respected as an architect and this time her voice will matter. I couldn’t be any prouder!

Aside from her amazing new job, I get to have more Jesse time! Haha For those who are wondering how her first day went, she had fun! The total opposite of what she thought. Anyway, this is what I wore. It’s a simple combination of black and grey. I paired the pullover with plain black pieces so as not to compete with the pattern. I wanted to highlight that. The walk shorts, on the other hand, made the look have a bit of that laid back feel. The fedora is just a cherry on top to complete the look! =)

Denim Tropics http://jessejake.com/2016/denim-tropics/ Fri, 08 Jan 2016 17:28:00 +0000 http://jessejake.com/index.php/2016/01/08/denim-tropics/

I’ve been wearing a lot of pullovers lately and I’m guilty that its what most of my backlogs are consisted of. I did analyze why I’m so attracted to this kind of clothing and I’ve drawn some conclusions! Haha Pullovers are long sleeved and I like wearing long sleeves. Yes! It might get warm but you can always roll the sleeves up and it’ll be just like a t-shirt. Pullovers don’t have collars as well. The material is where it differs, though.

Another conclusion is that it’s easier to where compared to a button up shirts. With pullovers, you can just slip into it! You can also wear it when you go to sleep. It did take quite some time for pullovers to reach the shore of the Philippines. When I saw one on the internet, around 2 years ago, I wanted to get my hands on it as soon as possible. Haha The most convincing reason, though, came from my hometown.

I spent my Christmas with my family in Cagayan de Oro city. It’s where I grew up. I was looking for clothes to wear and stumbled on clothes my mum kept since I was a kid. There was a tiny blue corduroy flight jacket, a small brown leather jacket, and pullovers! Haha I was like.”oh… that’s why!” Haha I was wearing pullovers since I was a kid. That explains a lot. =)
I got this one from “Dare to Dream” and the fit is amazing! You can feel the material used is of good quality as well. Ha! Three things that I like; fit, quality, and pullovers! Haha I paired it with white pants to create contrast and closed it again with dark blue brogues.
