The Harley Owners Group Cebu Chapter, in cooperation with Harley-Davidson of Cebu and Harley Owners Group Davao Chapter, is hosting the first ever Harley- Davidson Days in the Philippines.

Bringing together Harley-Davidson owners and enthusiasts from around the Philippines and neighboring countries, the Harley-Davidson will feature a number of activities that aim to bring together the community that shares a common passion for riding.

The event hopes to bring together more than 250 Harley-Davidson owners to join in the camaraderie, and take part in the growing community.

The Harley-Davidson Days will be on November 22-23, 2019 at Mandani Bay, and will include social events for the public, invited guests, Harley-Davidson Owners, competitions and exhibits, launching of the Harley-Davidson MY20 bikes, a grand raffle draw, and of course a Harley ride.

A Kilo of Kindness 2019

Now on it’s fifth year, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ ‘Kilo of Kindness’ global charity campaign still lends a helping hand to people in need one kilo at a time. The first time I heard about this initiative, I was immediately in awe of the title. All because it defines something intangible into something visible… into something that has weight both figuratively and literally.

This year the ‘Kilo of Kindness’ campaign calls on guests to donate at least one kilo of food, clothing, and educational supplies. Of course, you can donate more kilos if you want.

You actually don’t have to be a guest to donate. You can always head to Mövenpick and drop your donations at the main lobby. However, Mövenpick Hotel Island Cebu has made donating even more convenient for Cebuanos. You can now drop your donations at the box inside the Ibiza Bus parked at Ayala Center Cebu! These donations will then be distributed local partner charities.

“Our Kilo of Kindness campaign has grown immensely since its inception and in 2019 we are rallying support worldwide across all channels, within our hotels and local communities, in the hope to make this year the most successful yet,” said Nick Bosworth, Vice President Brand Management, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.

Ford Ranger 2019: An effortless experience

A month ago, I was invited by Ford for a media drive. I was more than excited because I love driving and cruising along the mountains of Cebu! Little did I know, I fell in love with the sheer power of both Ford Ranger XLT and Ford Ranger Wildtrak!

The first thing you notice is, of course, the exterior. Ford has always shown strength in their designs. As shown in the photos, it boasts its sportiness while maintaining that tough look. It’s definitely a statement that it is built to withstand more than the usual paved roads.

The next thing you notice is the interior. Notably on the Ford Ranger Wildtrak, the interior is quite the opposite of its exterior. Yes, it still gives off that sporty feel but the leather and the beige stitching subtly screams elegance and comfort. Quite the contrast but one that you will surely love!

Both Ford Ranger models, XLT and Wildtrak, steers well and power through steep inclinations well. However, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak felt like a breeze driving it on steep and tight curves. It showed little to no effort at all!

After less than a minute of driving the vehicle, I already trusted that it can perform what I wanted to do with it. The Ford Ranger Wildtrak I drove was an AT 4×4 variant. However, I only set it on 2WD (2-wheel-drive). We were done with the off road portion of the ride anyway and 2WD with its rear wheels is easier for drifting. Haha I know, it’s risky.

To my surprise, it did not struggle going uphill on 2WD. It was beyond easy to maneuver uphill on tight curves and even at a considerably high speed. Yes! I also managed to drift it beside a cliff. Haha No worries because I was able to effortlessly perform it all thank to Ford Ranger Wildtrak’s crazy responsive steering.

I am in no way well versed about cars. However, I know how a well built and well designed car, in this case truck, is and should be built. The Ford Ranger Wildtrak is a win! It surely feels, performs, and out delivers what it promises.

Petron TriAction Performance Run

Road trips! Yes, I grew up with a ton of that. My parents would always plan road trips to the beach or to the mountains of Mindanao. My siblings and I would always be excited and at the same time be too tired waking up early in the morning. I definitely miss those times when I didn’t have to worry about the trip itself because my parents have everything covered. So when Petron contacted me to be part of their TriAction Performance Run, I did not hesitate to say yes.

I have always wanted to go on a road trip around the Philippines. However, I have also always thought that it would be very worrisome. Then again, Petron just proved me wrong. They did just that! A road trip from Mindanao to Luzon without worry. Their trip went on without a hitch and the cars are at their utmost condition all thanks to their fuels.

I can attest this to myself, although not to the extent of having a road trip all over the country. I have driven around Cebu for roughly three (3) years on a daily basis with Petron unleaded filling up my tank. With that said, I did not have any engine problems in that time frame. That’s probably why I was somewhat not surprised that only Petron can pull a performance run on this scale. Their confidence on their product and services is definitely backed with proven and tested quality. These fuels do not only run your car efficiently, they also prevent further damage on your engine.

I was more than excited to show the TriAction Team around the city so we went straight to one of Cebu’s tallest skyscrapers, Crown Regency Hotel. The team got to enjoy a spectacular view of the city in both day and night time. Good thing the weather cooperated since it did not rain at all even if there were visible clouds at night. I’ve been residing here in Cebu for 10 years and I was still in awe at the view and so did the team. They could not stop taking photos! Haha

Ofcourse, going to Crown Regency wouldn’t be complete without trying their Sky Experience Adventure. The team got their adrenaline rushing as they take a seat at the world’s very first and only amusement ride of its kind, the Edge Coaster! They also tried out the Skywalk in which they walked on a translucent glass flooring at the outer rim of the building 126.66 meters above the street! Some tried out the zip line. This is no ordinary zip line since it takes you from one tower to another and lift you right back up! Surely, it’s the best way to experience the view, the height, and the adrenaline!

Knowing where they’ve gone and where they were going made me very excited. What keeps me even more excited is the fact that this project will encourage people to explore the Philippines at their own pace. The Philippines has a lot to offer that are off the beaten track. These are the places that are often skipped by tour guides and need time to be discovered. With your car and with Petron behind your back, you have the whole country to explore. This is what Petron TriAction Performance Run has clearly proven without a doubt.

JBL Summer Lounge

Music! Who doesn’t love music? However, I always prefer everything to be in High Definition. I am not talking about screens but I am talking about sound. This is deeply rooted to my dad. I have always been exposed and taught by my dad about the importance of high quality sound. To tell you the truth, JBL was always at high recommendation when it comes to speakers, headphones, and what not. I’ve known the brand for as long as I can remember and I just recently knew that they’ve been around for more than 70 years! Talk about expertise!

The award winning audio brand hosted the JBL Summer Lounge at Azure Beach Club, Crimson Resort last May 1, 2018. It was labor day and I had nothing planned! It was perfect for me since I just wanted to chill, enjoy music, and talk with friends.

It was impossible to miss the JBL Summer Lounge as it was a kaleidoscope of colors already seen from afar! You can also hear the beat. One that is not noisy but loud enough to enjoy. The place was bombarded with festive colors. It was music to my eyes. Haha We also got to play with jenga and other board games. It was all very Instagrammable. The vermillion ottomans, colorful bin bags, blue inflatable loungers, and orange life rings just made the area all the more laid back. We were literally sipping endless refreshing drinks and munching on great food. It was just what I wanted to do on labor day. Haha

We also got to try out and experience an array of JBL products which are very timely for the summer! The portable waterproof bluetooth speaker JBL Pulse 3 stood out because of its glowing LED’s which changed colors by simply shaking it. It can also synchronize to the music playing! Cool right?!

However, one of the speakers that caught my eyes and my imagination (yes! imagination! haha) was the JBL XTREME! It’s the one in the photo above. It’s splash proof, it looks cool, and you can charge your gadgets with it. What stood out for me was the sling. This is where the “imagination” comes to play. Haha I love biking around specially on an island. I imagined biking around the island of Bantayan with the JBL XTREME slung around me playing my favorite summer beat. I would then stop at this breathtaking beach and take a dip without getting worried of the JBL XTREME getting wet from my dripping wet swim shorts! Ugh, that would be a dream! haha Maybe not.

This is definitely the star of the party! The JBL BOOMBOX! Now this will probably replace every speaker at home. I am not kidding at all. This thing is a beast as it plays monstrous sounds. It is, by far, the most powerful speaker in the JBL arsenal. A single battery charge of the its battery will last for as long as 24 hours. That means you can bring this to the beach or a pool party and enjoy your favorite beats all day long!

The JBL Summer Lounge was an amazing venue for us to try out their products and their waterproof feature in the pool. Did I mention that DJ Jude Flores also played cool tracks of House Music? He did and its was a delight to cap the party. I have to admit, Azure Beach Club at Crimson Resort is very far from where I live but it was all worth it! Good food, great music, amazing ambiance, and incredible JBL speakers. What more could I ask for? Haha

Juan for Fun is back and, this time, the mechanics has been made more accessible. Our next generation of travelers now have the opportunity to join in on the fun!

It’s Christmas season and people are definitely feeling the gift giving spirit! I never forget that this is the month when everybody tells me that I am a very difficult person to give a gift to. The reason? I’m a guy! I’m very well aware that a lot of people, specially ladies, have no idea what they should give to a guy. So here’s a list that, for sure, a guy would like to receive this Christmas!

7. Plain Shirts

Yes! It is as simple as that! Any plain shirt will do. These are items which guys either neglect to buy or takes guys so long to buy a new one. It can be long sleeves or a basic t-shirt. Just make sure that it is in plain color unless he demands the printed ones. To be safe, you can opt for anything black or white. These are wardrobe staples which can be used multiple times in a vast variety of ocassions.

6. Aviators

Why so specific with the style of eye wear? It’s because you can never go wrong with aviators. It’s a classic and it fits any face shape. Trust me, it will look good on him. It would be best that you invest on a good brand for this so that it will last long. I’m sure your special guy will use this over and over again. Might even use it as his daily driver.

5. Portable Bluetooth Speakers

Sometimes, we also want to show off our playlist and everyone loves music. The good thing about portable bluetooth speakers is that you can bring them anywhere without the hassle of wires! That’s right, guys hate hassle. This is definitely convenient for the music lover guy.

4. Backpacks

In my opinion, a guys must at least have one quality backpack that can be used everyday. Men’s stuff are mostly bulky and our sling bags may not be sufficient and/or they are gym bags. Haha Just get the right backpack for you guy and he will use it when needed. Hey, he might be a mountaineer! You can get him that highly functional trekking backpack he’s been eyeing.

3. Headset/Earphones

Most guys are gamers or just want to shut off the noisy world around them. Earphone will surely be useful. It would be best to get the ones that produce high quality sound. Yes! The quality of sound varies mostly depending on brand. It makes a lot of difference in the whole experience of gaming and/or watching videos. If you get him those high end headset/earphones, he will automatically throw out the ones he has!

2. Watch

This is what I call a classic gift to a guy. I don’t know why but most guys naturally gravitate toward watches. We all know that our smartphones already have a watch in it. However, it is still better to take a look at the time with just a flick of the wrist. For men, watches are basically equivalent to jewelry to women.

1. Shoes

This is a no brainer! Most guys, if not all, love shoes. From sneakers to dapper brogues, guys have an affair with shoes. Haha Just make sure that you get the right size and the right style. You will surely make his Christmas a memorable one!

Believe or not, guys may have a lot in common but we have different preferences. The list I made is just a rough guide. Your guy might not be so interested in them. Luckily! Landers Superstore

Landers Superstore is finally here in Cebu! Yes, it is officially open today! I got so excited when I heard late last year that they were opening a branch here the Queen City. As many of you might not know, I actually cook. Believe it or not, I do. Haha I enjoy making my own stuff including making my own food. This is mainly the reason why I always enjoy going to craft stores, local market, and grocery stores. What more? A superstore that offers almost everything that offer both international and local goods at very awesome deals! =)

Trust me, when you visit this huge store, you will definitely buy things that you did not think of buying. The promotional deals they have for their opening which runs until the 15th of May is insane. Membership for the superstore is only Php 800 and it is buy one take one for Cebuanos up until the 31st of May! That’s basically just Php 400 only per card. =)

I couldn’t help but drool over their ice cream aisle. They have a whole aisle for ice cream! Imagine that! There’s definitely a lot of option of your favorite things here.

Members also get to enjoy FREE haircut at their in house barber shop, Federal Barbers. All you have to do is present your membership card along with any official Landers Superstore receipt (Superstore, Doppio, Landers Central. There is also no minimum amount or date required for the receipt. Now I know where to get my monthly haircut and do my shopping at the same time! =)

Landers Superstore has a lot to offer and it is just in the heart of the city. You have to go and visit them now to avail of their buy one take one membership as well as their buy one take one deals. They also have mark downs on a bunch of items which I am sure you would not want to miss! They are open from 9 AM until 9 PM everyday. So you have a lot of time to go and get that bang for the buck!

Wander Like Echo

Wrangler is continuing their search for bold and passionate adventurers who step out of their comfort zone to satisfy and share their love for travelling with stories that showcase the beauty of the Philippines.

With the success of True Wanderer for the past two years, Wrangler is extending the scope of this year’s competition from just bikers to all types of wanderers who have what it takes to be the next Open Road Hero. The denim brand for free and daring spirits is hoping to reach a wider audience and inspire more people to take up the call of adventure.

Now on its third year, the True Wanderer competition will select 20 finalists to embark on a 3-day journey to finish four different challenges that will test their skills and wits as an Open Road Hero.
